About the Company
Advance Communication Systems is a health and marketing consulting firm that has been operating since 1989. The organization currently supports more than 200 individuals and families in creating home-based business opportunities.
Role Overview
This internship focuses on observing, documenting, and analyzing factory dispatch planning and related operations. The intern will work on-site in Pune and nearby locations, learning how dispatch decisions are made and how operational data is handled in practice.
Responsibilities
As part of the role, the intern will help capture the current dispatch planning workflow and supporting operational practices.
- Track the full dispatch planning cycle at the factory, including how daily plans are created, who is involved, and what inputs shape those plans.
- Speak with dispatch managers, drivers, and operations team members to understand the rules they use for prioritizing orders, assigning vehicles, grouping routes, and dealing with exceptions.
- Review the available operational data, such as orders, vehicles, routes, and constraints, and distinguish between information stored in systems and knowledge held informally by people.
- Document how unusual situations are managed, including urgent orders, vehicle failures, receiving-site issues, and customer escalations.
- After each site visit, organize the findings into clear field notes, process maps, and summaries of the data inventory.
- Assist the engagement lead in putting together the scoping report, including current workflows, data preparedness, and recommendations on pilot readiness.
