Role Overview

The Visual Merchandiser Manager will lead the design, presentation, and experiential quality of luxury retail spaces, galleries, and temporary formats. The role focuses on translating brand strategy into premium physical environments, ensuring design consistency, managing store interiors, and delivering impactful customer experiences across stores and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Retail Network Development team to plan and execute the design of new stores, galleries, and other retail touchpoints.
  • Make sure every store expresses the luxury brand identity, design philosophy, and service expectations consistently.
  • Convert brand strategy into store environments that strengthen customer engagement and brand perception.
  • Identify and implement design enhancements that improve the overall appearance, atmosphere, and in-store experience.
  • Oversee the maintenance and periodic refresh of interiors, fixtures, furnishings, signage, finishes, lighting, carpets, and related visual elements.
  • Spot wear-and-tear concerns and recommend design-led fixes that remain aligned with brand standards.
  • Define material, texture, colour, finish, and detailing requirements, and coordinate rollout through RND and vendor partners.
  • Carry out regular store checks to confirm execution quality and visual consistency across locations.
  • Manage end-to-end retail design projects, including launches, refurbishments, upgrades, branding updates, and special initiatives.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and in line with approved design intent.
  • Handle project plans, approvals, artwork development, material selection, fabrication, installation, and final execution.
  • Ensure branding elements such as logos, signage, fixtures, and experiential components are implemented smoothly.
  • Conceptualize and deliver luxury experiences for store openings, media events, customer events, private previews, trunk shows, and curated dinners.
  • Shape customer journeys and event settings that feel memorable, distinctive, and premium.
  • Manage event aesthetics, including layouts, visuals, branding, décor, installations, and other experience elements.
  • Keep all event formats aligned with the brand’s premium positioning and storytelling.
  • Plan the design and experience setup for trunk shows and temporary retail formats.
  • Determine layouts, fixture needs, display standards, and customer movement flow to improve product presentation and experience.
  • Ensure event assets and display materials are properly maintained and used effectively.
  • Travel frequently to supervise setup, execution, and quality control.
  • Develop and manage relationships with architects, design agencies, fabricators, fixture vendors, signage partners, and material suppliers.
  • Source and assess innovative materials, finishes, fixtures, and design solutions suited to luxury retail environments.
  • Visit vendors and review quality to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.
  • Balance cost efficiency with the need to preserve a high-end customer experience.
  • Track global trends in luxury retail, hospitality, and experiential design.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Retail Design, Architecture, Spatial Design, Visual Merchandising, or a related field. The role calls for 7 to 10 years of experience in retail design, luxury interiors, store design, brand experience, visual merchandising, or experiential design. Backgrounds in luxury retail, premium lifestyle brands, jewellery, fashion, hospitality, or retail design agencies are preferred.
