Role overview
The Munitions Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, carrying out, and tracking all munitions accountability and inventory activities, including historical recordkeeping, in line with AFMAN 21-200, DAFMAN 21-201, T.O. 11A-1-10, and other relevant technical guidance. The role also involves operating and supervising the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS) while ensuring work aligns with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
Key duties
- Apply and enforce USAF and host-nation explosives safety, AFOSH, and security standards during explosives and non-explosives work at assigned locations and temporary duty sites.
- Take prompt control actions and respond appropriately during emergency situations.
- Use TICMS as fully as possible and escalate any system issues or discrepancies when needed.
- Lead the Munitions Operations Element for the site DoDAAC.
- Oversee training of team members on TICMS usage.
- Verify TICMS connectivity each day and resolve connection-related issues.
- Perform munitions tasks using established quality processes and recommend corrective measures when risks are identified.
- Complete accountability and historical records promptly and accurately.
- Coordinate with team members to resolve serviceability and accountability concerns found during inspections and report issues to the Superintendent.
- Advise the Munitions Accountability Manager, Munitions Superintendent, and MASO or their delegates about possible issues.
- Serve as the main point of contact for processing and filing accountable and auditable records.
- Carry out warehouse inventories and brief the Superintendent on any variances.
- Review requisitions weekly using TICMS screens, reports, and menus.
- Manage the ADR process to ensure required actions are completed for all assets.
- Compare the ADR file with TICMS records each month, confirm the documentation matches system data, record the outcome, and brief MASO on findings and fixes.
- Track components needed for munitions TCTOs and follow up as needed.
- Monitor AWM and AWP actions that affect stockpile serviceability.
- Make sure munitions shipments are arranged through Freight and monitor departure status.
- Perform entry-controller duties when required.
- Work the hours needed, including standby duty, to meet mission needs in peacetime and combat contingency settings.
- Carry out other assigned responsibilities as needed.
Work environment
This position is based in a normal office, maintenance shop, or warehouse setting and may require extended outdoor work.
Minimum qualifications
- Working knowledge of USAF Supply and Tech Order systems, or an equivalent system used by another U.S. service.
- Strong computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment if needed.
- Valid home-country driver’s license and the ability to secure a host-nation driver’s license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of military munitions experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in munitions operations or a comparable field.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in munitions operations or an equivalent role.
- At least 1 year of custody account or document control experience.
- At least 1 year of combined experience in inspection, storage, and munitions maintenance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for this clearance.
- Willingness to wear required PPE according to task-specific procedures.
- Physical ability to handle job demands, including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to travel within the country and internationally.
- Normal color vision and depth perception.
Preferred background
- Previous USAF MASO experience is preferred.
- Previous USAF MAJCOM staff experience is preferred.
- A CCAF degree in Munitions Management is preferred.
