Role overview
Wolt is hiring a Manager, Merchant Operations to strengthen the Merchant Operations team in Berlin. This position focuses on operational excellence, performance management, and execution across merchant success programs and strategic initiatives. The role works closely with country, regional, and global partners to keep teams aligned, track results, and turn priorities into measurable outcomes.
This is a highly cross-functional role with regular exposure to senior stakeholders and a chance to influence how merchant operations scale across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Own recurring business reviews, performance reporting, and operational updates for Self-Service Adoption, Early Merchant Success, Merchant Success Tooling Operations, and other assigned workstreams.
- Track performance across country, regional, and global teams against agreed KPIs, targets, and milestones.
- Ensure accountability by following up on actions and making sure initiatives are delivered consistently across markets.
- Spot performance gaps and growth opportunities, flagging strong and weak markets or programs and escalating risks when needed.
- Review trends, investigate root causes, identify process bottlenecks, and recommend improvements that drive better outcomes.
- Support country and regional teams with practical guidance on performance drivers, prioritization, and best practices.
- Work closely with Product, Analytics, Account Management Excellence, B2B Marketing, regional teams, country teams, and leadership to remove blockers and speed up delivery.
- Capture, document, and scale operational best practices across markets to improve execution quality, tooling adoption, and consistency.
- Improve reporting structures, operational workflows, and performance management systems so teams can act on clearer insights.
- Create and refine operating models, tactical plans, and long-term roadmaps for merchant success programs and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate stakeholders across functions to maintain momentum, align priorities, and deliver business goals.
Candidate profile
- At least 4 years of experience in consulting, operations, technology startups, strategy, business operations, or a similar field.
- Proven ability to solve complex business issues and turn unclear problems into structured, measurable initiatives.
- A strong growth mindset with a history of improving processes and building scalable solutions.
- A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to move between strategic planning and execution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the use of data to guide decisions; SQL knowledge is considered an advantage.
- Clear ownership and project management skills, with experience leading work across multiple stakeholders and streams.
- Comfort working under pressure, managing competing priorities, and delivering in fast-changing environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence without formal authority.
- Cross-functional experience with Product, Analytics, Operations, Commercial, or Marketing teams.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or a related area is beneficial.
