Role Overview

This position is responsible for coordinating material planning, sourcing, supplier readiness, and project execution for new business and new product requirements. The role acts as the central interface among customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure materials are available on time and project milestones are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate end to end among customers, suppliers, and internal functions to support successful delivery of new business and project needs.
• Serve as the primary contact for project material planning, procurement schedules, supplier preparedness, and customer coordination.
• Handle RFQ activity in a timely manner, manage commercial discussions, finalize supplier nominations including import suppliers, issue LOIs, and complete supplier onboarding to match project timelines.
• Drive APQP-linked procurement work and work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, SCM, Finance, and Project teams to enable smooth project launches.
• Track supplier capacity, tooling status, localization plans, and development progress to secure uninterrupted material supply.
• Conduct periodic reviews with suppliers and cross-functional teams, monitor project progress, identify risks, implement corrective measures, and participate in customer PMD reviews.
• Improve quality, cost, and delivery outcomes by identifying project improvement actions and driving continuous enhancement.
• Create sourcing plans, supplier diversification approaches, and cost-saving initiatives aligned with business expansion goals.
• Prepare and present procurement dashboards, MIS updates, supplier status summaries, and management reports for leadership review.
• Support risk mitigation efforts related to supply continuity, supplier performance, commodity volatility, and project execution issues.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The role focuses on major commodities such as aluminium die casting, forging, machining, steel, iron castings, turned parts, plastic components, and related categories.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in materials, procurement, supply chain, or project purchasing within automotive, auto components, engineering, or manufacturing environments, along with strong customer-facing exposure and project-driven sourcing capability.

Additional Requirements

The role requires a strong background in supplier development, part costing, supplier performance management, sourcing strategy, and commercial negotiations. It also calls for experience working across Projects, Engineering, Quality, Production, Finance, and SCM, plus a solid understanding of APQP, project milestones, localization initiatives, supplier capacity planning, and manufacturing processes.

The position demands strong analytical and problem-solving ability, comfort managing multiple projects at once, proficiency in SAP ERP, procurement MIS, project tracking tools, and a data-led approach to decision making. Leadership, communication, stakeholder management, relationship building, and team coordination skills are essential.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold a B.Tech / B.E. degree in any specialization and have 14+ years of relevant experience.
