Role overview
Solara Partners is a specialist management consulting firm focused on mining and metals, utilities, and manufacturing. The firm works in a hands-on delivery model, embedding with client teams on site until improvements are implemented and the capability to maintain them is established.
This opening is for a Management Consultant with practical operational excellence experience in mining, utilities, or manufacturing. The role is highly client-facing and centered on delivery. Rather than advising from a distance, you will spend time on the plant floor, in the pit, or on the production line, collaborating with operators and frontline leaders to improve how work is performed.
The position is full-time and contract-based, with significant travel expected. Compensation is listed at CND 110,000 to 175,000.
Key work areas
You will assess operational performance issues, shape improvement plans, and help put them into action within client organizations. The work includes building internal capability so that changes continue after the engagement ends.
Additional information
This role is intended for someone who enjoys working in fast-moving, ambiguous operational settings and is comfortable supporting multiple workstreams from scoping through delivery. The firm emphasizes measurable results, close partnership with senior leaders, and visible impact across each assignment.
Terms and conditions
Travel is a major part of the role, and the consultant must be willing to work embedded at client sites for extended periods. The job is described as full-time or contract, and the compensation structure includes a bonus component. A generous benefits package is also offered.
What you will do
- Assess operational gaps by using tools such as value stream mapping, bottleneck analysis, and data-driven analysis.
- Develop and roll out process improvement initiatives, visual management approaches, and continuous improvement programs.
- Create and implement Management Operating Systems, KPI structures, and performance dashboards that connect strategy with frontline execution.
- Drive change adoption by helping teams embrace new processes, systems, and working methods across the client organization.
- Coach client teams so they gain the skills needed to sustain improvements independently.
- Support the management of multi-stream improvement projects from initial scoping through final delivery.
- Present findings, updates, and recommendations clearly to operators, frontline leaders, and senior executives.
Required profile
The ideal candidate brings consulting or operational experience in mining, utilities, or manufacturing, with direct exposure to plant, mine, or field operations being especially valuable. Strong change management, coaching, or facilitation ability is important, along with the confidence to influence behavior change across all levels of an organization.
Applicants should have at least one relevant certification or a combination of the following: Lean Six Sigma, Prosci Change Management, Supply Chain credentials such as CSCP or CPIM, PMP, or an MBA or similar qualification. Strong analytical ability is essential, especially in complex and fast-changing operational settings.
Fluency in English is required. Spanish and/or French is a strong advantage because of the company’s international client base. Candidates must also be ready and able to travel extensively and work on site for long stretches.
Preferred background
Experience in a boutique consulting environment or an embedded-delivery model is a plus. Familiarity with mining, process optimization, digital transformation, or real-time analytics tools in industrial settings will also be considered an advantage. A record of contributing to large-scale operational improvements is desirable.
About the company
Solara Partners is a small consulting team that works directly with senior partners on every engagement. The firm values practical results over reports, and the work is designed to create measurable operational improvement in high-visibility client environments.
Benefits
- Work side by side with senior partners on every engagement.
- Be part of a small team where individual contributions are highly visible.
- Focus on delivering real operational outcomes, not just presentations.
- Gain exposure to major engagements across mining, utilities, and manufacturing.
- Receive competitive compensation with a bonus structure.
- Access a generous benefits package.
