Role overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Level 2 Support professional to join a public sector team through Unijobs. The appointment is initially for 12 months, with the possibility of further extensions. The position is based in the Midlands region and calls for someone with solid practical technical experience who is comfortable working face to face with clients and has previously handled similar responsibilities.
Working arrangement and pay
This is a 35-hour per week assignment. The successful candidate will be engaged as an agency employee and will receive €32.02 per hour, which equates to an annualised salary of €58,477. The role includes 30 days of annual leave each year, along with paid Bank Holidays.
Location and flexibility
The first few weeks are expected to be fully onsite. After the induction period, hybrid working may be agreed, typically split between 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. That said, the role requires flexibility, as some weeks may involve greater onsite presence and travel across the region.
Travel requirement
Applicants must have access to a car and hold a full driving licence, as regional travel will form part of the role.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver ICT support by diagnosing and resolving technical incidents in accordance with agreed procedures, processes, and service standards.
- Keep records of work completed up to date and prepare clear, professional technical documentation and reports when needed.
- Contribute to ICT projects by completing technical tasks within the agreed scope, quality expectations, and deadlines, while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Work alongside service teams and the Project Manager to help achieve business outcomes and project goals.
- Assist with the technical management of internal and external supplier and vendor relationships, including monitoring service quality and delivery performance where required.
- Serve as a technical contact within assigned workstreams and with stakeholders, translating technical issues into language that non-technical audiences can understand.
- Guide and support Project Team members so they can carry out assigned workstream tasks effectively.
- Spot technical issues and project risks, escalate complex matters to senior staff or the relevant teams, and keep line management informed of developing concerns.
- Handle information confidentially and maintain professionalism at all times.
- Work in accordance with local policies and procedures.
- Stay familiar with relevant ICT regulations, standards, data protection requirements, and guidelines connected to the role.
Skills and experience required
- Practical background in IT support, technical troubleshooting, or service delivery.
- Strong ICT capability and excellent computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and similar tools.
- Ability to use computer technology effectively to manage work and deliver results.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with a range of stakeholders and take responsibility for agreed objectives.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external users.
- Good problem-solving and analytical ability, supported by careful attention to detail.
