Role overview
This full-time position supports laundry operations by handling linens for clients in the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area. The role focuses on keeping laundry flowing efficiently, maintaining cleanliness standards, and ensuring items are processed, stored, and distributed correctly.
Key duties
- Follow approved procedures to sort, wash, and dry linen items.
- Fold, count, and stack clean linens in line with established processes.
- Gather used linens and replace them with clean stock as needed.
- Move clean and soiled linens and other supplies to the correct storage and collection points.
- Check linens regularly for signs of damage or heavy wear, and handle discarded items according to the standard procedure.
- Keep both commercial and residential laundry areas tidy, organized, and sanitary.
Role requirements
- Prior exposure to housekeeping or laundry work, or a comparable mix of training and experience, is considered an advantage.
- You should be able to understand and follow both written and spoken instructions.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills are needed.
- Comfort using laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, linen presses, and garment labeling machines is important.
- You need to be self-directed and able to work on your own or collaborate with others.
- The role requires physical capability to perform the day-to-day tasks.
