Role Overview
This contract Human Resources Generalist position supports a housing organization with a strong mission focus. The assignment is centered on employee relations, workplace investigations, and helping maintain a respectful, compliant, and professional workplace. It is a practical, hands-on role for an HR professional who can quickly take ownership of sensitive issues, guide managers and employees, and support core people processes across the employee lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Act as a key contact for employee relations matters and provide day-to-day guidance to employees and managers.
- Lead investigations into complaints, policy breaches, misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and other workplace concerns.
- Collect and review information, interview relevant parties, keep accurate records, and document findings with recommendations.
- Work with leadership and legal or compliance partners to resolve issues and reduce organizational risk.
- Coach managers on performance management, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and employee engagement.
- Promote consistent use of company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
- Support onboarding, offboarding, and related employee lifecycle processes.
- Help administer leave of absence requests and accommodation matters.
- Maintain employee files and support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Assist with recruiting activities such as interviews, candidate selection, and onboarding coordination.
- Contribute to HR projects, policy updates, training efforts, and process improvements.
- Review HR patterns and data to suggest ways to improve employee experience and organizational performance.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of progressive HR experience, especially in employee relations and workplace investigations.
- Solid understanding of employment law, HR policies, and standard HR practices.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism and good judgment.
- Strong skills in interviewing, conflict resolution, communication, and documentation.
- Very good organization and attention to detail.
- Comfort using HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Experience
- HR credentials such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
- Background in handling complex workplace investigations in multi-site or matrixed environments.
- Strong capability in employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, and compliance.
- Clear critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to influence others and build cross-functional relationships.
Compensation and Assignment Details
This is an 8-week contract role based in Sandy Springs, Georgia, with a hybrid work arrangement. Pay is set at $35.00 to $40.00 per hour. The industry is housing.
