Role overview
This opportunity is with a rapidly expanding international professional services organisation seeking an HR Advisor for its Dubai office. The position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and supports teams across the UAE, the UK and the US. It is a practical, hands-on role for an HR professional who can advise managers confidently while also managing day-to-day people operations throughout the employee journey.
Key responsibilities
- Support managers and employees with employee relations, performance management, onboarding, offboarding, payroll coordination and HR policy advice.
- Serve as a dependable first contact for HR-related questions and build effective working relationships with employees and managers.
- Refer complex, sensitive or high-risk issues to senior HR leaders or outside specialists when needed.
- Help deliver culture, engagement and retention initiatives and ensure people practices remain consistent, compliant and suited to a fast-moving business environment.
- Guide managers in dealing with performance concerns in a fair and consistent way.
- Assist with employee feedback, engagement and retention activities.
- Review patterns in employee feedback, ER matters and HR data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Handle a broad range of employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, absence management and performance-related issues.
- Advise on UK employment law and help maintain compliance with relevant UAE and US employment practices, involving external advisors where necessary.
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, probation, internal moves, promotions, family leave, absences, exits and offboarding.
- Assist with multi-region payroll by ensuring employee information is accurate and submitted on schedule.
- Coordinate with finance teams, managers and external payroll providers to resolve payroll queries.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in an HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar hands-on HR position. A solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice is essential, along with experience advising managers on policy, employee relations and performance matters. You should also be comfortable drafting HR letters, meeting notes and employee documents, and have experience supporting the employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding. Strong organisation, the ability to juggle several priorities in a busy environment, and excellent communication and relationship-building skills are important, as is the confidence to work with people at all levels.
