Role overview
An opportunity is available for a Genetic Technologist to become part of a expanding specialist team at Synnovis. This permanent, full-time position is based at the Denmark Hill site of King’s College Hospital in London. The role supports the Multi-omic Medicine Service (MMS) laboratory by contributing to both laboratory-based and administrative activities.
What the role supports
The successful candidate will help deliver diagnostic work across the MMS, which includes the Liver Genetics and Molecular Neuropathology teams. The post involves hands-on molecular genetics work, sample handling, record keeping, and administrative support to keep the service running smoothly.
Main duties
The post holder will carry out molecular genetic testing, including next-generation sequencing and array preparation. They will also assist with sample processing, ensure records are maintained accurately, and support general administrative tasks.
Additional service support
There is also a requirement to assist the Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) service by preparing and sending samples to the GLH and completing the associated paperwork.
