Driver Trainer

Overview

Amazon is hiring a self-driven Driver Trainer to support a customer-focused delivery network in Dubai. This role is based at an operating site and includes practical, on-the-job training. The trainer will help shape a strong learning culture for Delivery Associates by leading group sessions, coaching individuals, and using hands-on methods such as drive-alongs to reinforce safe and effective driving practices.

The position plays an important part in preparing new hires for Day 0 onboarding, ensuring mandatory training is completed, and helping Delivery Associates understand the safety, quality, and productivity standards expected in their day-to-day work. The role also requires the trainer to model Amazon Leadership Principles, answer questions clearly, and support the delivery station as a go-to person for driver training matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Run daily training sessions for groups of up to 30 participants, including classroom-style instruction and on-road drive-alongs.
• Set up Learning App accounts and assign Day 0 onboarding modules.
• Track and follow up on Day 1 training tasks to ensure completion.
• Work closely with Delivery Service Partners, Operations Managers, Area Managers, and Learning Teams to plan, deliver, and review training activities.
• Coach Delivery Associates one-on-one and take part in daily standups.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of driver processes, expectations, and training needs across all active driver programs.
• Assist with translating training content where needed.
• Prepare accurate and timely updates on training completion, compliance, safety, and maintenance-related work.
• Deliver training in line with required safety, quality, and legal standards.
• Teach and audit safe driving and compliance practices, including road safety requirements.
• Monitor performance through ride-backs and on-road observations, identifying areas for refreshers and process improvement.
• Work outdoors, operate different motor vehicles, and drive according to local traffic rules.
• Stay engaged with day-to-day operations through regular participation in on-road activities.
• Serve as an internal resource for driver training questions and support peer training when needed.
• Encourage, guide, and give feedback to Delivery Associates during training.
• Perform ride-along audits, travel to multiple sites, and use GPS effectively.
• Work 45 hours per week and be available for overtime as required.

Basic Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications.
• At least 1 year of experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week with overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• A valid and active driver’s license.

Additional Information

This role requires in-role training at an operating site. Applicants should be comfortable with physical activity during shifts, including lifting up to 49 pounds and standing or walking for up to 12 hours. The job also involves frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching, with or without reasonable accommodation.
