Delivery Driver

Role Overview

The Delivery Driver is accountable for moving products and materials between pickup and drop-off points on schedule. The role includes loading and unloading items, staging materials at company locations and at customer or vendor sites, and making sure all delivery-related documents are complete, accessible for review, and travel with the shipment.

In addition, the position requires compliance with Department of Transportation recordkeeping rules and other applicable regulations.

Essential Duties

• Operate light-duty vehicles that are not subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulation.
• Follow company processes, work instructions, supervisor direction, and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Drive in a manner that follows traffic laws, avoids citations, and promptly report any ticket, accident, or incident to management.
• Observe safety procedures, identify workplace hazards proactively, and work with leadership to reduce risk.
• Secure cargo with straps and tie-downs to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Keep driver logs accurate and aligned with state and federal requirements.
• Use forklifts, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment as needed.
• Check equipment for safe operation and carry out basic troubleshooting or minor maintenance when appropriate.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in spoken and written English.
• Assist with packing, shipping, warehousing, or related tasks when not assigned to driving.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Report to the workplace on site on a regular basis.
• Be available for routine travel, including occasional overnight trips.

Compliance Requirement

This position is subject to ITAR compliance. To qualify, candidates must meet the U.S. person definition under EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15, meaning they must be one of the following: a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or a protected person.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Interstate drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience operating large vans, trailer-equipped trucks, or similar oversized vehicles is required.
• Prior forklift experience in a shop setting for moving oversized items is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Be able to stand and walk regularly throughout the facility.
• Be able to sit for long periods while driving.
• Lift, carry short distances, and push or pull up to 100 pounds with material-handling equipment as needed.
• Climb steps, stairs, or ladders occasionally, and regularly step on and off a forklift, truck, or trailer bed.
• Bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel occasionally.
• Distinguish colors accurately for sensors, indicators, and color-dependent dashboards.
• Pass the required eye examination and maintain the visual acuity needed for the role.
• Use hands, fingers, legs, and feet to operate vehicles, forklifts, straps, and tie-downs.

Work Environment

The job is performed in a motor vehicle as well as in manufacturing shop and warehouse settings, where conditions can change significantly. The role may involve exposure to occasional excessive noise, dust, smoke, fumes or vapors, extreme temperatures, and hazardous equipment such as forklifts, hand tools, cranes, and other lifting devices used in a machine-shop environment.

Safety Equipment

Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory, including hearing protection, eye protection, hand protection, and safety footwear.
