Centra is hiring a part-time Deli Assistant for its Borrisoleigh store in County Tipperary, Ireland. The role focuses on preparing fresh hot and cold deli items to a high standard while making customer satisfaction the top priority.

Main purpose of the role

You will support the deli by producing quality food, maintaining service standards, and helping create a positive experience for shoppers.

What the ideal candidate will bring

• HACCP training would be beneficial, though it is not a mandatory requirement.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in customer service is an advantage.
• Comfort working in a team and handling multiple tasks in a busy, fast-moving setting.
• Genuine enthusiasm for food and the ability to encourage customers in their choices.

Key duties

• Reflect the store’s brand values of being proud, energetic, imaginative, and community-focused.
• Prepare customer orders across fresh food areas, including making sandwiches and rolls, serving hot food, and slicing meats according to portion-control guidelines.
• Cook, prepare, and present food items throughout the day.
• Keep deli and fresh food displays looking excellent at all times.
• Share product knowledge, recipe ideas, and helpful recommendations with customers.
• Handle customer questions and issues promptly, professionally, and in line with store procedures.

Working schedule

Approximate shift end times are listed as follows: Monday to Saturday up to 20:00, and Sunday up to 17:00. The exact start and finish times may vary.
