Cloud Consulting Architect

Role overview

Red Hat is hiring a Senior Cloud Architect to join its consulting organization in Qatar. In this position, you will act as a technical authority in Red Hat infrastructure and cloud technologies, advising customers on automation, reliability, scalability, maintainability, high availability, and failover design. You will also lead on-site implementation work and help customers adopt solutions that combine flexibility, performance, and freedom of choice.

The role requires practical experience in infrastructure and architecture design. You will need to understand customer environments, identify business challenges, and recommend solutions that fit their needs. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to deepen their expertise while working in a fast-moving, customer-facing environment.

Red Hat will assist with relocation to the UAE for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discovery, analysis, and design workshops that build trust with prospective customers and shape architecture decisions around Red Hat solutions.
• Plan and scope delivery engagements, and guide consulting teams through successful pilot and production rollouts.
• Create and deliver enablement materials that help Red Hat teams sell, deliver, and support solutions at scale.
• Partner closely with product teams, consulting, support, and sales to create an excellent customer experience.
• Help develop reusable methods and tools that make service delivery more scalable and reduce project risk.
• Represent Red Hat externally through thought leadership content such as white papers and webinars, and by speaking at industry conferences.

Required background

• Strong working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including command-line usage and Linux networking setup.
• Experience working with containers, container management tools, container debugging, and Quay.
• Practical knowledge of package management through both the CLI and Red Hat Satellite.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, with OCP knowledge considered essential for the referenced platform deployment.
• Architecture experience in datacenter environments covering networking, compute, and storage.
• Familiarity with server hardware, UEFI/BIOS, and lights-out management technologies such as IPMI and Redfish.
• Networking knowledge across SDN, Layer 2, Layer 3, Layer 4, and Open vSwitch.
• Storage experience with SDS/Ceph as well as SAN and NAS.
• Experience using Ansible, including playbooks and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization systems such as Red Hat IDM and Active Directory.
• Ability to develop design and architecture documents and participate in discovery and scoping sessions for network/datacenter work.
