Role overview

This is a strong opportunity for a qualified Trade Assistant in low-voltage distribution who is based in, or prepared to move to, the Townsville region. The role sits within Ventia’s expanding national Energy and Renewables business and supports the delivery of power line works across Australia.

Benefits and roster

• Hourly pay of $58.23, plus superannuation and penalty rates
• Extra allowances may apply in line with the enterprise agreement
• Rostered day off included
• Standard schedule follows a 9-day fortnight
• For away-from-home projects, the roster is 10:4

What the role involves

You will help deliver power line work safely and efficiently by supporting the team on site and contributing wherever needed. The position also includes safety observation duties when assigned, along with general upkeep of vehicles, tools, equipment and depot areas.

Key accountabilities

• Support the safe and efficient completion of power line projects
• Stay aware of the work being carried out and step in proactively to assist where needed
• Carry out safety observer duties in line with policies and procedures when allocated
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across vehicles, sites and depots
• Use and care for tools and equipment correctly and safely
• Help restock vehicles as required
• Assist with cleaning work vehicles and equipment
• Take on other reasonable duties as directed

About you

The successful applicant will be comfortable working away from home when required and open to reasonable overtime depending on business needs. Working at heights experience is required, and having an HR truck licence, C2 crane licence or LF forklift licence will be viewed favourably.
