About the role
This position sits within a global pest-control organization serving customers across more than 90 countries. The company focuses on protecting people, improving quality of life, and helping preserve the environment. As a Termite Technician, you will help safeguard homes and other properties by identifying, preventing, and treating termite and other wood-destroying organism issues.
What you will do
- Inspect properties to diagnose termite activity and understand pest behavior so the right corrective action can be taken.
- Carry out termite treatments in a safe manner and in line with company standards and procedures.
- Apply anti-termite solutions to structures according to the work schedule, safety rules, and product label directions.
- Explain conditions that encourage termite activity and discuss any follow-up procedures or structural changes that may support the treatment plan.
- Check that each work order matches the required job specifications.
- Drive, operate, and take care of service vehicles and equipment.
- Complete production paperwork and record the services performed.
- Communicate with customers and clearly describe the services delivered.
Essential job duties
- Work in different environmental conditions, including seasonal weather, moisture, and dusty areas.
- Prepare the treatment site before starting work.
- Access structures and crawl spaces, move over and around buildings, and use stairs and ladders as needed.
- Be comfortable working about 20 feet up on a ladder and operating in tight enclosed spaces.
- Handle a job that involves frequent movement such as sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, including on stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
- Wear required personal protective equipment, including an OSHA-compliant respirator, and work safely in confined areas, narrow passages, and spaces where pests may be present.
- Experience in general labor, carpentry, cement work, roofing, gutter work, or attic work is considered helpful.
- Ability to work on roofs and other elevated areas is important.
Requirements
- Must be clean-shaven so safety respirators can form a proper seal.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience is needed; experience in termite control is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn are essential.
- Availability for Monday through Friday, plus Saturdays when needed, is required.
- Any licenses or certificates required by federal, state, or local regulations will be covered by the employer.
- Basic math ability is necessary, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, as well as following label instructions for mixing products.
Compensation and benefits
The base hourly pay range is $18.00 to $23.00. Starting pay depends on factors such as location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also be influenced by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment where applicable.
Full-time colleagues receive benefits starting on day 1, with no waiting period. Eligible employees may also have access to medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, vacation and sick time, company-paid holidays and floating holidays, training and development programs, tuition reimbursement for full-time colleagues, and opportunities to grow within the organization.
