System Integrator

Role overview

Jacobs is looking for an experienced System Integrator to support major rail and infrastructure programmes in Ireland. This position plays a central part in making sure system designs are coherent, compliant and prepared for future needs across the full project journey.

You will take the lead on requirements coordination, interface control and assurance planning so that technical solutions stay aligned with safety, security, regulatory and stakeholder expectations. The role is intended for someone who can bring structured leadership to complex, multi-disciplinary delivery environments.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain a practical, scalable systems integration approach that matches programme risks and desired outcomes.
• Oversee programme-level systems integration and assurance across technical, operational, asset and human factors areas.
• Support design acceptance activities involving multiple stakeholders and delivery partners.
• Manage requirements and interfaces with clear traceability at programme level.
• Prepare and maintain Interface Control Documents and interface registers.
• Build and run a staged assurance approach from early concept through to entry into service.
• Coordinate assurance work covering safety, security, interoperability, RAMS and regulatory obligations.
• Chair cross-discipline coordination sessions and help resolve technical conflicts and issues.
• Assist with planning transitions between current and future system configurations.

What you need

• A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in engineering or a related field.
• At least 15 years of experience delivering complex rail or infrastructure programmes.
• Strong working knowledge of systems engineering and systems integration methods.
• Practical experience with rail standards such as CENELEC 50126, CENELEC 50128, CENELEC 50129, ISO/IEC 15288 and IEEE 1220.
• Understanding of EU rules including CSM-RA and Railway Interoperability Regulations.
• Hands-on use of systems integration tools such as DOORS and Enterprise Architect.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work effectively with senior stakeholders.
