Strategy Development Manager

Role purpose

This position supports the Strategy team by researching markets and competitors, assessing strategic options, coordinating priority initiatives, and preparing reports and presentations that help leadership make informed decisions and shape Business Development focus areas.

Core responsibilities

• Help prepare and refresh the annual strategy and the 3 to 5 year strategic plan.
• Gather, review, and validate inputs from business units so that strategy documents remain aligned and data is accurate.
• Study industry movements, competitor actions, new technologies, and expansion opportunities in emerging geographies.
• Summarize findings into insight notes and executive briefs that explain the business impact.
• Assist in early-stage review of new business lines, services, and market-entry opportunities.
• Draft feasibility assessments, SWOT reviews, and opportunity notes for internal evaluation.
• Develop and maintain financial and business models used to test investments and strategic initiatives.
• Run scenario-based and sensitivity analyses to support decision-making.
• Track the execution of approved strategic projects across business units.
• Monitor progress, flag risks or gaps, and provide regular status updates.
• Prepare strategy reports, KPI dashboards, and board-level presentation materials.
• Ensure all outputs are accurate, consistent, and aligned with corporate messaging.
• Work closely with Strategy, business units, and Business Development teams to keep information flowing smoothly.
• Support the transition of qualified opportunities to Business Development for execution.

Experience and background

The role calls for 8 to 10 years of experience in strategy, corporate planning, market analysis, management consulting, or financial/business analysis. Experience in EPC/Construction, Energy & Utilities (including transmission, distribution, and renewables), or Infrastructure Development/FM/Project Development is preferred.

Expected capabilities

The right candidate should be able to conduct market and competitor research, turn findings into practical recommendations, build business cases and financial evaluations, create executive-ready presentations, and collaborate effectively across multiple functions.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance is required. If the bachelor’s degree is in Engineering, an MBA is preferred.
