Role overview

This opening is for a Software Engineer I on the eCRMS – Customer 360 (C360) Engineering team. The role focuses on creating and improving cloud-native, event-driven, reactive systems that deliver a unified, global view of customers.

You will be part of a collaborative engineering group working across the stack, with exposure to backend services, React-based frontend work, and cloud environments on Google Cloud Platform and AWS. The role is designed to build practical experience in scalable system development while strengthening modern engineering practices.

What you will work on

• Help develop microservices that support a fast-expanding data platform.
• Assist in designing and delivering scalable APIs with current programming frameworks.
• Contribute to tools, automation, and instrumentation that improve platform stability and reliability.
• Build services that handle real-time data movement, processing, and analytics.
• Work with teammates to make data pipelines more efficient, dependable, and scalable.
• Take part in code reviews, testing, and debugging to help ensure strong software quality.
• Collaborate on cross-team engineering efforts and broader technical initiatives.
• Continue learning and applying best practices in software engineering, system design, and cloud technologies.

What we’re looking for

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar practical experience.
• Understanding of distributed, multi-tier systems, algorithms, and both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Awareness of the main tools used to plan, analyze, build, test, configure, and maintain applications.
• About 1 to 3 years of experience, or equivalent internships/projects, building applications with object-oriented programming such as Java or related technologies.
• Basic familiarity with REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Comfort with Java and writing code that is clean and easy to maintain.
• Good grasp of data structures, algorithms, and core software design principles.
• Exposure to relational databases and/or NoSQL systems such as Cassandra or Couchbase.
• Experience using version control tools like Git.
• Strong analytical thinking and a willingness to pick up new technologies quickly.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Familiarity with frontend development using React.
• Basic understanding of event-driven architecture or messaging technologies such as Kafka or Vert.x.
• Experience with build tools like Maven or Gradle.
• Awareness of container technologies such as Docker or OpenShift.
• Exposure to Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, or Python.
• Interest in data engineering, machine learning, or AI-related ideas.
