Registered Nurse

Job purpose

The role is focused on delivering first-line primary care and general nursing support to company staff who are unwell or have experienced a workplace or industrial injury. It also involves participation in screening activities and aviation nursing services as needed, while ensuring compliance with MOH and GCAA requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Observe patients, review their condition, and identify what support they need in order to provide appropriate care and guidance.
• Check vital signs, collect samples when required, and prepare the necessary tools and equipment for examinations or procedures.
• Get patients ready for GP consultations and assist the doctor with regulatory medicals and screening examinations according to established standards and processes.
• Use diagnostic equipment and carry out nursing procedures such as giving oral, intramuscular and intravenous medication, changing dressings, measuring blood pressure, performing finger-prick glucose tests, ECGs, spirometry, ear lavage, and similar tasks.
• Deliver immediate medical support in emergency situations.
• Work with physicians to develop care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Record test results accurately and promptly in the medical information system before the patient meets the doctor, and flag any abnormal findings to the doctor.
• Take part in clinical audit activities.
• Follow infection control practices in daily work and help maintain a safe, hygienic environment by cleaning equipment, disinfecting surfaces, preparing beds, and carrying out related sanitation tasks.

Qualifications and experience

• A nursing degree is required.
• A valid MOH licence is mandatory.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office and database systems is needed.
• English fluency is required in both spoken and written form; Arabic is an added advantage.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered nurse in primary care and nursing practice is required.
• The ability to work on a 24-hour shift roster is necessary.
• The candidate should be able to work independently with limited supervision and also contribute effectively as part of a medical centre team.
• Good physical fitness is expected.
• Applicants should have strong knowledge of nursing care methods, emergency care, health and safety practices, and sanitation/decontamination procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
