About the Company
The employer is a progressive textile manufacturer focused on technical textiles, with particular expertise in high-performance narrow elastic tapes. Quality plays a central role in its operations, and the organization works under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OEKO-TEX STeP certifications.
Role Overview
In this position, you will act as a Quality Management / Quality Control engineer for narrow fabrics and technical textiles. Your responsibility is to ensure that products consistently meet defined specifications and customer expectations while supporting ongoing improvements across the quality management system. The role connects production, R&D, and leadership, requiring clear communication and a practical approach to solving quality issues.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Altshausen, Germany. The working time is 40 hours per week, and home office is not available. The role requires strong professional communication in both German and English, with a minimum level of B2 in each language.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and continuously refine the quality management system, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OEKO-TEX STeP requirements.
- Plan and conduct internal audits, and contribute to external certification audits as well as customer audits.
- Take charge of inspection planning and monitor incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Analyze quality indicators such as yield, Cp/Cpk, and deviation trends, then convert the findings into process improvements.
- Manage complaint cases and corrective/preventive actions, from investigating the root cause to confirming that the fix works.
- Work closely with production, purchasing, and suppliers to maintain and improve product quality.
- Ensure documentation is complete, traceable, and ready for audits, while independently owning your area of responsibility.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings certification as a Quality Manager, such as DGQ Qualitätsmanager or an equivalent qualification, along with solid knowledge of quality management tools and methods. A practical, analytical mindset and confidence in making decisions on the shop floor are important for success in this role.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Additional advantages include a degree in engineering or textile engineering, experience with narrow elastic or technical textiles, knowledge of ISO 13485, a Six Sigma qualification at Green Belt level or above, coding ability such as Python for quality analytics, and a background in materials science or medical/functional textile manufacturing. Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier and customer audits is also beneficial.
