Role overview
Wood is seeking a Manager, Contracts & Procurement to join its Projects business in support of a major gold mine and processing facility development in Ar Rjum, Saudi Arabia, aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The role sits within a global consulting, engineering, and operations business serving the energy and materials sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Assess the EPCM contractor’s procurement strategy, including procurement plans, material requisitions, and purchasing schedules.
- Take part in reviewing vendor technical submissions, preparing bid comparisons, and supporting commercial and vendor selection evaluations.
- Check and approve purchase orders, supplier documents, logistics arrangements, and quality assurance controls.
- Join FATs, supplier inspections, and expediting work as required.
- Help manage long-lead equipment and materials, monitor tracking, and resolve supplier-related concerns.
- Work closely with engineering teams so vendor information is incorporated accurately and on time into project deliverables.

Qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated background in contract review, drafting, and negotiation within a services environment.
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
- Relevant industry exposure that provides understanding of core contracting principles.
- Experience leading and managing a team, where applicable.
- Strong knowledge of contract terms, contract principles, and the development and rollout of contracting policies.
- Working knowledge of company finance and HR systems.
- Awareness of corporate and project procedures.
- Strong understanding of client contract structures, principles, and policies.
- Experience should include engineering and construction projects in at least one of the following sectors: life sciences, mining, power, infrastructure, environmental, or oil and gas.
- Exposure to EPC and EPCm work and to standard contract models such as NEC, FIDIC, JCT, LOGIC, or similar regional forms.
- Relevant experience: 6-10+ years.
- Supervisory experience: 2-6 years.
