European Wax Center (EWC) started as a family-owned company and has grown into the largest waxing service provider in the United States, with over 1,000 locations nationwide. Since 2004, the brand has centered its guest experience on Comfort Wax®, highly trained estheticians, clean facilities, and private waxing suites, with a commitment to delivering consistent service for every guest.
Role summary
The President will lead the organization through its next stage of growth and transformation by building a strong, scalable leadership bench, improving operating systems, and using data-led decision-making to improve unit economics and profitability. The role covers enhancement of location-level performance, new unit development, and possible acquisitions. This leader will also shape a people-first culture by recruiting, setting expectations, coaching, motivating, and holding teams accountable so that every center delivers the brand’s expected energy and service quality.
Core responsibilities
This position is accountable for financial performance, operational consistency, team development, and strategic governance across the portfolio.
Financial performance and capital management
- Take ownership of the complete P&L across all locations and drive EBITDA improvement through stronger margins, revenue growth, and disciplined cost control.
- Create and maintain a detailed KPI system, including target setting, dashboard-based reporting, weekly revenue tracking, and variance analysis, to support sustained margin expansion.
- Manage lender relationships, stay compliant with credit agreement requirements, complete covenant reporting, and meet debt service obligations. Lead refinancing or new credit facility efforts when needed.
- Act as the main point of contact for investors, provide regular financial and operating updates, support due diligence, and maintain the transparency expected by governance stakeholders.
Operations and continuous improvement
- Raise operating standards across all locations by evaluating field leadership, creating consistent playbooks, and identifying performance differences by region.
- Improve core business systems and workflows, including scheduling, reporting, supply chain, and guest experience processes, with the goal of increasing efficiency and scalability.
- Convert national brand campaigns and promotions into effective local execution that protects margins while driving traffic.
People and organizational leadership
- Build a culture of accountability and high performance across the leadership team and field organization.
- Develop field leaders and strengthen succession depth while reducing turnover and maintaining safety and compliance standards across the portfolio.
- Recruit and grow operational leaders who can scale with the business over time.
Stakeholder and strategic governance
- Work closely with the Board of Directors and Anchor Point leadership on strategy, capital allocation, and organizational results.
- Prepare accurate and timely materials for Monthly Business Reviews and Board meetings.
- Engage with the EWC Franchise Advisory Council to help shape brand direction and represent franchisee interests while ensuring system standards are followed.
- Evaluate growth opportunities with disciplined financial analysis, prioritize high-return capital projects, and maintain brand compliance across the portfolio.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in multi-unit consumer services, retail, or hospitality; franchise background is strongly preferred.
- Proven ownership of large-scale P&L responsibility with clear EBITDA outcomes.
- Experience working with lenders and presenting to investors or a private equity-backed board.
- Strong record of introducing operational systems and process enhancements that improve efficiency and location profitability.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to build and manage KPI frameworks and financial dashboards.
- Demonstrated success in developing and retaining strong field leadership teams.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or a similar advanced degree is preferred.
Compensation and benefits
The base salary for this role is $175,000 to $225,000, depending on experience.
In addition, the role includes a performance-based annual bonus tied to financial and operational KPIs, along with participation in the Management Incentive Plan, which may include equity in NAWCO.
