Role overview
A well-established, market-leading firm in Cardiff is looking to add a Payroll Clerk to its payroll department. This is a strong opportunity to join an experienced team and grow within a supportive environment.
The company is open to candidates with some payroll exposure who are driven, eager to learn, and keen to develop their careers. Payroll or general administrative experience would be an advantage, although full training will be provided.
What you will do
- Handle payroll questions, disputes, and complaints, and refer issues onward when needed.
- Carry out payroll transactions with accuracy.
- Make sure statutory deductions are calculated correctly, recorded properly, and reported on time, including taxable benefit returns.
- Assist with the accurate and timely processing of payroll runs.
- Track non-statutory deductions taken from employees and ensure payments and returns are sent to the correct organisations.
Requirements
- Some prior experience in a payroll setting.
- CIPP qualified, currently working toward CIPP, or willing to study toward it.
- Experience using payroll software or payroll systems.
- Strong organisational skills and a self-starting approach.
- Ability to manage and prioritise your own workload effectively.
- Comfortable communicating confidently across different levels of the business.
- Good computer skills and strong numerical ability.
