Operations Supervisor, Student Transportation

Role overview

Transdev Ontario Manitoba, operating as Voyago, is looking to hire an Operations Supervisor for an existing vacancy in its Etobicoke and Gormley offices. The position supports student transportation activity across the expanded Greater Toronto Area.

What you will do

• Report to the Operations Manager and oversee day-to-day student transportation operations in the assigned territory.
• Coordinate internal logistics and keep the Schools division aligned with other support functions.
• Work closely with Human Resources and Maintenance to keep operations running smoothly and manage the team within the operation.
• Help fuel buses and keep vehicles clean.
• Lead staff activity to ensure drivers meet contract standards and service continues during vacation and sick leave coverage.
• Track staff performance through site visits and incident or collision reports, follow up where needed, contribute to annual reviews, and address operational issues.
• Partner with Health and Safety to schedule training.
• Review KPIs with drivers as directed and report findings to the Operations Manager.
• Be available on call for divisional emergencies, including holidays and weekends.
• Maintain work schedules and make sure coverage is always in place.
• Act as a main contact for maintenance, human resources, and health and safety support teams.
• Step in to cover school runs when needed.
• Oversee monthly ghosting and deficiency reports.
• Manage paperwork and timesheets, including the full process.
• Ensure payroll information is entered accurately and on time.
• Support employee engagement and regular staff meetings.
• Assist with driver onboarding and orientation for new hires.
• Track driver licence upgrades from beginning to end.

Requirements

• Strong commitment to safety.
• Clean driving record and the ability to drive safely.
• Valid Class B licence preferred.
• Ability to obtain a clear criminal record check and/or vulnerable sector screening.
• Good knowledge of York Region and nearby areas.
• Comfortable working independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Post-secondary education or an equivalent background.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
• Detailed knowledge of York Region.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proven customer service experience.
• Student transportation experience is considered an advantage.

Benefits and compensation
