Ontology Engineer / Knowledge Graph Engineer

About the Role

This position is centered on building and maintaining ontology and reference data capabilities within an RDM platform. The work involves designing, configuring, and rolling out semantic structures that support standardization, ingestion, and downstream integration. The core platforms mentioned for this role are SciBite Centree, Progress Semaphore, and TopBraid.

Role Overview

You will work as an Ontology & Knowledge Graph developer, contributing to semantic modeling and the creation of reference data frameworks that can be consumed by other data layers.

Key Focus Areas

• Ontology modeling and taxonomy design for domain use cases
• Building semantic relationships and hierarchical structures
• Working with controlled vocabularies and reference standards
• Developing graph-based models using RDF, OWL, and SKOS
• Supporting SQL-based data work and graph database integration
• Creating data models for domain entities
• Contributing to Databricks engineering, including data pipelines, ingestion patterns, and API integrations

Tools and Technologies

The role uses SciBite, TopBraid, and Progress Semaphore as the primary tooling environment. Additional experience with Databricks and Snowflake data engineering is considered an advantage.

Additional Information

Domain knowledge in Life Sciences is optional but beneficial for the role.
