About the company
Positive Carbon, established in Dublin in 2020, develops AI-powered technology that helps commercial kitchens measure what they discard. Its sensor is placed above a bin and uses computer vision to identify the weight, volume and category of every thrown-away item automatically, removing the need for staff to log waste manually. This converts an otherwise hidden operational issue into clear, real-time financial insight on what is being wasted, what it costs, and how to reduce it.
The problem being solved is substantial. About one-third of the food produced globally is wasted, and kitchens in hotels, offices, hospitals and universities are among the largest contributors after households. A single commercial kitchen may throw away food worth tens of thousands of euro each year without the loss appearing on its balance sheet.
The impact has already been proven. Kitchens using Positive Carbon have reduced the value of wasted food by as much as 90%, improved gross profit by 2–8%, and produced returns several times higher than their spend on the product. The company works with hospitality groups, universities, and workplace caterers across Ireland, the UK, and the DACH region.
As a small and growing company, the people hired now will have a direct influence on the product, the culture, and the direction of the business. The role offers genuine ownership, close access to the founder, and the chance to work on a mission where commercial value and climate impact align.
Role overview
This position is for a hands-on marketer who can accelerate the sales process rather than simply manage brand visibility. The main focus is to create assets and campaigns that help sales and partner teams demonstrate food-cost leakage, build compelling business cases, and convert pilots into wider rollouts. Sustainability supports the story, but the core emphasis is product and partner marketing.
Responsibilities
- Develop case studies that emphasize business outcomes such as food-cost impact, contract context, baseline position, actions taken, waste reduction, financial value, and expansion potential.
- Design and deliver partner enablement materials, including co-branded campaign kits, client one-pagers, quarterly business review content, and discovery aids.
- Plan and execute targeted campaigns for workplace, university, and hospitality segments, while tracking how effectively campaigns convert into meetings.
Requirements
- A self-driven person who has taken an initiative, project, club, side hustle, or campaign from an early stage to something tangible, and is comfortable working without a clearly mapped path.
- Strong copywriting ability and the skill to create sales materials that are actually adopted and used.
- Comfort with ROI-focused and financially driven messaging.
- Experience creating case studies, with a preference for proof and evidence over polished presentation.
- Experience in B2B SaaS or in hardware-plus-software marketing is a strong advantage.
- Comfort taking on a role where you may be the first and only marketer in the organization.
Perks and benefits
- Health insurance coverage.
- Pension contribution.
- Bike-to-work support.
- 25 days of annual leave.
- Hybrid working arrangement.
