Role overview
This position sits within the Strategic Planning and Finance Division (SPFD) as a corporate planning role. The selected candidate will help coordinate and drive important planning work across the ministry so that MCCY functions as one integrated organisation. The role supports alignment between MCCY headquarters and its partner agencies, while contributing to the broader mission of strengthening citizenry and keeping the nation united.
You will partner closely with senior leaders and officers across the MCCY network, working with varied stakeholders to build strategic alignment, reinforce corporate governance, and support a collaborative ministry culture.
Key work areas
- Assist with corporate planning initiatives that help MCCY operate in a well-coordinated way, including both internal collaboration and external representation.
- Plan and deliver ministry-wide engagement programmes such as Senior Management Advances, Leadership Advances, and Town Halls to support leadership alignment across the ministry family.
- Coordinate end-to-end parliamentary preparation across headquarters divisions and family agencies, covering the Committee of Supply debate, President's Addendum, and NMP nominations, with the goal of supporting strong strategic, communication, and public-facing outcomes.
- Oversee updates to the MCCY Corporate Handbook for Companies Limited by Guarantee (CLGs) by reviewing content, identifying revision needs, and working with internal teams in IT, HR, and Finance to keep the handbook accurate and complete.
- Develop communication plans to explain compliance obligations to family agencies, helping improve governance consistency, reduce audit issues, and strengthen accountability and risk management.
- Review and improve corporate and organisational platforms to increase operational resilience and effectiveness.
- Work with consultants to update and validate Business Continuity Management plans and related processes.
- Lead an intranet refresh to make information easier for officers to find and use.
- Set up a cross-functional team to manage intranet content together and ensure it stays aligned with the knowledge management framework.
What the role calls for
The ideal candidate should bring strong strategic judgement and a solid understanding of socio-political developments, especially where these connect to MCCY's work in social cohesion and citizenry.
Applicants should be highly organised, able to plan and manage complex workstreams, and comfortable handling several initiatives at the same time.
Good people skills and clear communication are important, as the role involves bringing different groups and organisations together around shared goals.
The position also requires a consultative approach, the ability to accurately capture stakeholders' perspectives, self-direction, and comfort with ambiguity.
Eligibility and experience
Appointments will depend on the candidate's level of experience. Fresh graduates may apply, and experience in government corporate planning, stakeholder coordination, organisational development, or strategic planning will be an advantage.
