About the Studio
Plush Design Studio creates custom interiors for homes, blending visual appeal, practical use, and cultural context. Every assignment is shaped around the client’s personal story, with an emphasis on honoring their heritage and background through the finished space.
Role Overview
This contract position is for an Interior Designer based in the NJ/NYC region, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. The role involves in-person and virtual client interactions, on-site space measurements, room-by-room planning, selection of building materials, furniture and décor, preparation of mood boards, and regular coordination with the rendering team.
Core Work
- Meet clients both face-to-face and over video calls to understand project needs.
- Measure interiors accurately and develop layouts for individual rooms.
- Choose construction finishes, furnishings, and decorative elements aligned with the concept.
- Create mood boards and visual direction for design proposals.
- Stay in close daily communication with the rendering team to move projects forward smoothly.
Working Style and Travel
The studio is seeking someone who can adapt to flexible working hours, has a valid driving license and access to a car, and is willing to travel occasionally to Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Travel costs for these trips will be covered.
Qualifications
- Practical knowledge of space planning, architecture, and construction drawings.
- Understanding of interior design and FF&E selection.
- Background in designing residential interiors.
- Ability to use AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design tools.
- Sharp eye for detail and a strong creative approach.
- Confident communication and presentation abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related discipline.
