Role overview
A luxury lifestyle hotel in Doha, Qatar is looking for a seasoned Head Chef with deep expertise in Asian cuisine. This is a senior culinary leadership position for someone who can balance traditional and modern Asian cooking styles while guiding a high-performing team in a premium hospitality setting.
Key responsibilities
- Direct all Asian kitchen operations and maintain a consistently high level of food quality, presentation, and taste.
- Create and refresh menus that preserve authentic Asian flavours while introducing a refined, contemporary touch.
- Hire, coach, and motivate kitchen staff to deliver strong operational results and excellent service standards.
- Oversee food cost management, stock planning, and waste control to support profitability.
- Maintain strict compliance with hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organization requirements.
- Work closely with Food & Beverage leadership to ensure culinary output matches the hotel’s brand and guest expectations.
- Manage day-to-day kitchen execution as well as service for events and special occasions.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef focused on Asian cuisines such as Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Korean, Southeast Asian, or Pan-Asian cooking. Experience in luxury hotels or premium standalone restaurants is highly desirable. The role suits a culinary leader who brings creativity, strong standards, and the confidence to perform in a busy, high-pressure environment.
Skills and strengths
Strong leadership, menu development, food costing, kitchen administration, inventory management, waste reduction, and team development are essential. A deep appreciation of Asian culinary traditions, along with the ability to innovate within a luxury dining context, will be important for success.
Compensation and benefits
The total package is tax-free and valued at approximately USD 68,555 to USD 71,843 per year. This includes basic salary plus housing and transportation allowances.
