About the Role

This opportunity is for a technically minded Mechanical Engineering graduate to join DBS’s Mechanical team in its Sydney CBD office. Reporting to the Associate of Mechanical, you will contribute mechanical services work across the full project lifecycle, including calculations, design, and documentation, while helping deliver coordinated and client-focused engineering solutions. You will also work closely with Directors and senior leaders who are invested in staff growth and development.

The salary for this position is AUD 75,000 to AUD 85,000 per year, plus superannuation.

Key Duties

• Develop practical mechanical solutions that align with client budgets and expectations.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to produce coordinated and buildable design outcomes.
• Use a proactive, relationship-focused approach when dealing with designers, builders, and other consultants.
• Contribute to major workplace and commercial projects across Australia.

Requirements

• A qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical credential.
• A solid understanding of construction project stages and delivery approaches.
• At least 2 years of experience taking projects through the full lifecycle within a professional engineering consultancy or a similar environment.
• Background in commercial and/or workplace fitout projects is essential.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• A self-starting attitude with a practical, can-do mindset.
• Experience preparing heat load calculations for workplace fitouts.
• Prior use of Camel heat load software, or willingness to learn it.
• A clear commitment to ongoing professional development.

• Strong problem-solving ability and sound ethical judgement.
• Experience in commercial or workplace fitout work is desirable.
