Role Overview
This position is for a General Accountant working on an outsourced arrangement in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The engagement is offered as a 1-year contract, and the compensation is up to AED 5,000 per month.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and process incoming payments across cheque, bank transfer, credit card, cash, and direct payment channels.
- Carry out reconciliations for bank accounts, commissions, insurance-related balances, customer credit balances, and other accounts as needed.
- Manage petty cash operations, monthly expense entries, vendor settlements, and refunds issued to clients.
- Liaise with insurance providers to follow up on receipts and refund-related matters.
- Prepare payment requests and assist with the day-to-day deposit of cash and cheques.
- Investigate and clear unmatched or unallocated transactions while keeping financial records accurate and up to date.
- Maintain compliance with accounting principles, internal policies, and applicable regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required.
- At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience is expected.
- Strong working knowledge of reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and financial reporting is necessary.
- Comfort using accounting software along with Microsoft Office tools is important.
- Applicants should bring solid analytical ability, strong organization, and clear communication skills.
