Role overview
Join a major essential services provider operating across Australia and New Zealand, with a strong background in Defence support and firefighting operations. This full-time opportunity is based at RAAF Base Pearce in Bullsbrook, Western Australia, and sits within Ventia’s Fire Services team. The role is part of a long-term Defence contract awarded in 2024, with an initial 6-year term and the option of two further 2-year extensions.
Work schedule
The expected shift pattern is Monday to Thursday from 0800 to 1700 hours, and Friday from 0800 to 1500 hours.
What the role involves
You will work as part of a firefighting team supporting fire and rescue operations, with exposure to airfield, structural, and bushfire response activities. Day-to-day duties are carried out under direction from Station Officers and include maintaining operational readiness, completing administrative tasks linked to operational work, following health and safety procedures, and taking part in training and drills to stay deployment-ready.
Special conditions
To be considered, you must be able to obtain and keep a Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting 1 (secret level). This means you need to be an Australian citizen, able to pass an Australian Federal Police check, and able to successfully complete a CASA Basic Class 2 pre-employment medical.
Qualifications required

The minimum qualifications for this position are PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations), PUA30619 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations), and a current HR driver’s licence.
