Overview
Study Groups has spent more than four decades bringing together executives in confidential peer settings where they can exchange real-world challenges, insights, and practical solutions that benefit both their organizations and surrounding communities. The organization is hiring a part-time remote Facilitator Manager to strengthen and guide its facilitator network and keep the experience consistent and high-quality across all groups.
This position is well suited to someone who enjoys coaching people, improving processes, and building reliable systems while helping business leaders perform at their best. The role works closely with the Director of Operations and includes occasional travel.
Role Summary
The Facilitator Manager acts as the main coach and leader for Study Groups facilitators, including both employees and independent contractors. The role centers on training, accountability, development, and ongoing improvement of the member experience.
In addition to supporting facilitators directly, this person will help define standards, exchange effective practices, and make sure every group meeting delivers meaningful value.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitator leadership and coaching
- Be the main contact for facilitators across the network.
- Offer coaching, feedback, and support for performance improvement.
- Hold regular check-ins and development-focused conversations.
- Help facilitators handle group dynamics and engagement issues.
- Ensure facilitators stay aligned with Study Groups' expectations and standards.
Training and development
- Lead onboarding and training efforts for new and existing facilitators.
- Create practical resources, tools, and best-practice guidance.
- Run quarterly development meetings for facilitators.
- Encourage a continuous learning mindset across the facilitator community.
Quality and operational excellence
- Track meeting quality and consistency across all groups.
- Review agendas, outputs, evaluations, and follow-up actions.
- Verify that processes and standards are being followed.
- Spot patterns and identify opportunities to improve performance.
Playbook and systems ownership
- Keep the Facilitator Playbook current and useful.
- Capture and standardize proven best practices.
- Build repeatable systems that help facilitators succeed.
- Work with leadership to expand operational excellence.
Group health and performance
- Identify groups that may require additional support.
- Monitor engagement and satisfaction trends.
- Recommend changes to facilitator alignment and group effectiveness.
- Help resolve issues before they grow into larger problems.
What We Are Looking For
Required experience and abilities
- Background facilitating executive peer groups, leadership forums, workshops, or similar environments.
- Proven experience coaching, leading, or developing people and teams.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to bring structure, accountability, and consistency to work.
- Strong emotional intelligence and good judgment.
- Well-developed organizational and project management skills.
Preferred experience
- Experience working with business owners, executives, or leadership teams.
- Exposure to financial and operational business conversations.
- Experience creating training programs, playbooks, or operating systems.
- Prior work in industries served by Study Groups.
