Export Specialist

Role overview

An established freight forwarding business in Tilbury, Essex is seeking an Export Specialist to join its team. The role focuses on handling export movements, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting the wider operations team in the smooth coordination of international shipments.

What you’ll do

• Manage deep-sea export consignments, including both FCL and LCL cargo.
• Arrange cargo bookings with shipping lines and keep job files up to date.
• Assist senior colleagues with the coordination of overseas export activity.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and carriers to verify and collect shipment information.
• Prepare export paperwork and handle the customs process.
• Keep internal systems updated and ensure all compliance requirements are followed.

What we’re looking for

• At least 2 years of experience in a freight forwarding environment managing export shipments.
• Strong background in both deep-sea and airfreight exports.
• Previous experience completing export entries.
• High levels of accuracy and strong organisational ability.
• GCSEs, or an equivalent qualification, at grades A-C / 4-9 in core subjects including Maths and English.
• Clear communication skills and good IT confidence, including Microsoft Office.
