Role overview
The Events Coordinator works under the guidance of the Director of Events and Basketball Operations to help run selected ESPN Events activities and to support sales-related materials, recap work, and internal administrative tasks for the ESPN Events division.
What you will do
- Deliver on-site operational assistance for a range of ESPN Events-owned basketball and football events.
- Help execute assigned projects tied to owned-and-operated events, including ticketing and marketing plans as well as game-day operations.
- Contribute to recruiting teams for basketball events, track team participation, and maintain historical event records.
- Support division-wide operational work such as sales assistance, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- Handle administrative duties for assigned events, including gift coordination, inventory tracking, and accounting or budget-related support.
- Take on other tasks as needed to support the events team.
Required background
Candidates should bring at least one year of experience in a professional environment or a large event-driven setting, along with solid Microsoft Office proficiency. The role calls for someone who is self-directed and highly detail-oriented.
Preferred experience and education
Additional value is placed on candidates with at least two years of professional experience, a strong understanding of college athletics, event planning or coordination experience, and the ability to think creatively when developing marketing concepts and materials. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe tools is preferred, and experience with Photoshop or Illustrator is a plus. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred.
Compensation and benefits
The expected pay range for this Charlotte, NC role is $51,500 to $68,900 per year, calculated on a 40-hour workweek. Scheduled hours may change depending on business requirements. The actual salary offered may differ based on internal pay alignment, the candidate’s location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, the package may include a bonus and/or long-term incentive units, plus access to medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the level and role offered.
