Role overview
Marcon is seeking a seasoned Contracts Administrator to take end-to-end responsibility for contract administration across challenging, high-value projects, including premium luxury developments. This role sits within a collaborative project team and requires someone who can operate independently, manage several priorities at once, and contribute strong commercial judgement.
The company is an independent project and development management consultancy working across commercial and residential construction in the Northern Rivers and South East Queensland. The work involves complex, high-spec projects where accuracy in contracts, financial control, and commercial discipline are essential.
Key duties
- Manage head contracts, subcontracts, and consultant agreements in line with AS 4000 and AS 4902, including variations, extensions of time, and formal contractual notices.
- Review progress claims under the Security of Payment legislation and oversee financier reporting together with drawdown schedules.
- Act as the main point of contact on contractual matters for clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers, handling correspondence confidently and authoritatively.
- Monitor and reduce contractual risk while keeping projects aligned with contractual, regulatory, and financier requirements.
- Support trade procurement and cost management to help maintain budget performance and project momentum.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will bring 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial construction contract administration, with proven capability across the full contract lifecycle. A practical understanding of AS 4000, AS 4902, and the Security of Payment Act is important. The role also suits someone with a qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
Experience using Payapps, Jobpac, and Procore is required, along with strong written and verbal communication skills. You should be comfortable managing contractual correspondence independently and working with a high level of autonomy.
