Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Content Creator position in Kenya. The role involves developing, producing, and sharing compelling content for digital channels such as social media, blogs, newsletters, and campaign collateral.
You will partner with program, communications, and fundraising teams to turn project updates and impact stories into engaging written, visual, and multimedia content. The work also includes editing copy, organizing photo and video sessions, maintaining publishing schedules, and keeping messaging aligned with the brand and inclusive communication standards.
A key part of the job is reviewing how content performs, using analytics to guide improvements, and keeping up with digital communication trends relevant to nonprofit and community-focused storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Develop and publish content for social media, blogs, newsletters, and campaign materials.
- Work with program, communications, and fundraising teams to turn project activities and success stories into strong narratives and multimedia assets.
- Write, revise, and polish copy for different platforms.
- Plan and coordinate photo and video production.
- Maintain and update content calendars to support timely publishing.
- Ensure all content stays consistent with brand standards and uses inclusive language.
- Track content performance and recommend improvements based on analytics.
- Keep up with current trends in digital communication relevant to nonprofit and community work.
Requirements
- Ability to create content, including copywriting, storytelling, and basic visual or multimedia production.
- Experience handling social media, websites, or blogs, with knowledge of audience engagement online.
- Strong research ability and comfort interviewing stakeholders and simplifying complex information for general audiences.
- Working knowledge of basic editing tools for text, images, or video, along with content scheduling or management tools.
- Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of additional local languages is an added advantage.
- Proven ability to collaborate in an on-site team setting and manage deadlines across several projects.
- Background in, or strong interest in, nonprofit work, community development, or social impact initiatives.
- Diploma or degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, Marketing, or a similar field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
