Role overview
Stryker is inviting expressions of interest for future Associate Territory Manager openings in Hamilton, New Zealand, supporting the Joint Replacement business across the Waikato region. This role is a strong fit for someone with a technical mindset who wants to develop a long-term career in medical device sales and work with advanced solutions such as Mako.
A Mako system has recently been installed in Hamilton, creating a timely opportunity to join as demand and business activity expand. The position is suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, learning complex systems and applying that knowledge in real clinical settings. You will be backed by an experienced team and leaders focused on your growth, while expected to take ownership of your learning and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Support surgeons in operating theatre during joint replacement procedures.
- Build capability in advanced technologies, including Mako robotic-assisted surgery.
- Offer clinical and technical support to hospital teams.
- Develop trusted working relationships with surgeons, nurses and theatre staff.
- Partner with the Territory Manager to plan and deliver territory activity.
- Help with account planning and monitor progress against targets.
- Prepare for procedures, handle instruments and coordinate accurate set logistics.
- Keep up to date with new technologies, surgical techniques and market developments.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate is technically minded, quick to learn complex systems and able to communicate technical ideas clearly and confidently. You should be comfortable creating structured plans, motivated by performance and results, and confident in building rapport and influencing others. Time spent in theatre environments should feel manageable. A background in engineering, biomedical science, technology, healthcare or sales is considered an advantage.
