Role Overview
This position is responsible for leading area-level performance and ensuring the business grows in a sustainable, compliant, and profitable way. The role focuses on portfolio expansion, productivity improvement, risk control, branch performance, and team capability building across the assigned geography.
Key Performance Areas
The role is measured across multiple business and operational outcomes, including growth, profitability, asset quality, compliance, and people leadership.
Business Growth and Scale
- Drive year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter growth in assets under management.
- Improve disbursement value against plan, customer base expansion, market share in priority geographies, average ticket size, and the balance between new and renewal loans.
Profitability and P&L Control
- Support profitable growth while maintaining disciplined costs.
- Track and improve net interest margin, gold loan portfolio yield, cost-to-income ratio, operating profit, return on assets/return on equity, and incremental profit per branch.
Portfolio Quality and Risk Management
- Maintain strong asset quality and ensure collateral safety.
- Monitor GNPA/NNPA, SMA bucket levels (0-30 and 31-90 days), gold loan LTV compliance, auction losses, fraud incidence by count and value, and recovery rates after delinquency.
Branch Productivity
- Build and optimize a productive branch network.
- Track new branch openings against plan, break-even timelines, AUM per branch, disbursement per branch and per relationship manager, and reduction in low-performing branches.
Sales Effectiveness and Customer Acquisition
- Improve frontline sales productivity and customer reach.
- Measure disbursement per sales officer and branch manager, customer acquisition cost, lead-to-disbursement conversion, repeat customer ratio, and cross-sell/upsell performance.
Compliance, Audit and Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal policy requirements.
- Manage RBI and internal audit observations, policy deviation cases, gold purity testing compliance, documentation accuracy, and any zero-tolerance breaches.
People Leadership and Capability Building
- Lead, develop, and strengthen branch and sales teams.
- Focus on attrition in sales and branch staff, turnaround time for filling critical vacancies, successor readiness for key roles, training coverage, and productivity gains after training.
