Role Overview

This position involves supporting VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN environments at L2/L3 level. The role centers on day-to-day operations, advanced troubleshooting, network stability, and performance optimization across branch, data center, and cloud-connected environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN components, including Edge, Gateway, and Orchestrator.
• Investigate and resolve issues across both overlay and underlay connectivity.
• Set up and troubleshoot Business Policies, DMPO, Link Steering, QoS, WAN Remediation, and application-aware routing.
• Build and maintain Hub-and-Spoke, Full Mesh, and Multi-Hub VPN designs.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing on VeloCloud Edge devices using BGP, OSPF, and static routes.
• Review route tables, advertisements, redistribution behavior, and failover outcomes.
• Diagnose IPSec VPN, Cloud VPN, Non-VeloCloud Site VPN, and Partner Gateway connectivity problems.
• Assist with connectivity and integration across AWS, Azure, GCP, and SaaS platforms.
• Use packet analysis tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump to inspect traffic and capture data.
• Address issues related to latency, jitter, packet loss, asymmetric routing, and application slowdown.
• Support high-availability setups, edge clustering, and redundant link configurations.
• Manage WAN links such as MPLS, broadband, DIA, LTE/5G, and internet circuits.
• Handle Zero Touch Provisioning and support large-scale branch rollouts.
• Carry out software updates, firmware upgrades, patching, and maintenance tasks.
• Track network status through VeloCloud Orchestrator dashboards and prepare operational reports.
• Perform root-cause analysis for major incidents and recommend durable corrective actions.
• Work with ISPs and carriers to resolve outages and performance issues.
• Follow ITIL-based processes for change, incident, problem, and service request management.
• Support Cisco ACI environments using a spine-leaf architecture.
