What you'll do

- Develop, update, and improve valuation and financial models used to determine portfolio company fair value.
- Draft quarterly valuation memoranda, supporting schedules, and presentation materials for review by the Valuation Committee.
- Collaborate with investment team members to understand portfolio company performance and translate that information into fair value conclusions.
- Work closely with accounting, compliance, and investor relations partners across the business.
- Support the implementation and day-to-day use of Chronograph, with emphasis on clean data, analytics, and onboarding newly added investments.
- Assist with audit requests and respond directly to auditor questions related to valuation topics.
Background and fit
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a closely related discipline is required.
- At least 2 years of practical valuation experience gained at an investment bank, buy-side investment manager, or specialist valuation firm.
- Strong Excel-based modeling capability, including the ability to construct and support complex valuation models, plus working knowledge of ASC 820 fair value guidance.
- Experience using financial data tools such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, or comparable platforms.
- Very strong attention to detail, solid organization, and the ability to communicate valuation outcomes clearly in both written and verbal form.
- Prior exposure to private equity or alternative asset management is preferred.
- Experience valuing alternative assets such as litigation finance, music royalties, or structured insurance vehicles is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Chronograph or a similar portfolio analytics and management system is preferred.
- CFA designation, or progress toward CFA, ASA, or ABV certification, is preferred.
