Description de l'emploi

Role overview

Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is looking for Radiographers to join a varied and enthusiastic Radiology team as the Imaging Service continues to grow. This position offers strong prospects for professional development in a modern, well-equipped, and supportive department.

Department profile

The radiology service operates as a fully digital radiography department with wireless PACS connectivity for theatre and mobile imaging. Facilities include six digital plain imaging rooms, a fluoroscopy suite, two CT scanners, two MRI scanners, a symptomatic mammography service, a DEXA unit, and six non-obstetric ultrasound rooms. The team also supports up to three theatre lists each day, covering Trauma & Orthopaedics, Urology, and Endoscopy. In addition, rotations include outpatient clinic support at a healthcare centre in Stratford’s Olympic Park.

Main duties

As a Band 5 Radiographer, you will rotate across all plain imaging areas and, after the relevant induction period, take part in the paid on-call and out-of-hours service. You will also contribute to the red dot and commenting process for emergency department plain imaging, along with the NG tube commenting system, once training and assessment have been completed.

With experience and demonstrated competence in plain imaging, fluoroscopy, and DEXA, you will progress into full CT training with the goal of moving into a Band 6 post.

Training and development

The department has a strong reputation for supporting continuing professional development and encourages extended practice roles. Career progression is well established, and staff regularly advance into advanced practice reporting posts. Postgraduate education is actively supported, with current team members undertaking qualifications in MSK, CXR, MRI, mammography, and barium swallow reporting, as well as postgraduate certificates across imaging modalities.
