Role Overview
The QA Analyst for Manual Testing is expected to protect product quality by performing careful hands-on testing, finding defects early, and supporting ongoing quality improvements. The role involves checking new features, helping surface issues during development, and encouraging a culture of accountability and strong quality standards.
This position reports to the QA Lead and partners closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams. The work style is a mix of synchronous and asynchronous collaboration in a fast-moving, flexible environment.
This is a full-time, US-based remote role for a candidate who is detail-focused, intelligent, and experienced in quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, update, and run manual test cases and test scenarios to confirm product behavior across web, mobile, and API-based applications.
- Carry out exploratory, regression, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing to uncover functional and usability problems.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and QA colleagues to clarify requirements, sharpen acceptance criteria, and support high-quality releases.
- Find, record, prioritize, and monitor software defects with clear steps to reproduce and supporting proof.
- Verify bug fixes and repeat regression checks before each release.
- Take part in feature refinement discussions to spot edge cases, risks, and useful test scenarios early in the cycle.
- Help improve QA practices, testing approaches, documentation, and overall product quality.
- Prepare and maintain QA documentation such as test plans, test cases, checklists, and knowledge base articles.
- Assist with release checks and production verification when required.
- Support the automation team by identifying candidates for automation and keeping test scenarios ready for automation.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a Software QA Analyst with a strong emphasis on manual testing.
- Solid knowledge of QA methods, software testing techniques, and defect lifecycle handling.
- Experience designing structured test cases, test plans, and performing exploratory testing.
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs with tools such as Postman or similar tools.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Ability to quickly understand business rules and work independently in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with defect tracking and project management tools such as Asana, Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Testmo, or comparable platforms.
- Familiarity with SQL and basic database checks is an advantage.
- ISTQB CTFL or a similar QA certification is a plus.
- Basic awareness of test automation concepts is helpful, though direct automation experience is not required.
- Must be based in the US and able to work full-time for a US employer without needing visa sponsorship. E-Verify is used during onboarding to confirm work authorization.
Work Style
- Customer-focused, with a genuine interest in helping users succeed and delivering strong service.
- Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to identify and address issues before they grow.
- A collaborative teammate who works well across departments.
- Committed to learning and staying current with telehealth and healthcare technology trends.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary target for this role is USD 75,000 to 95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
- 75% employer-subsidized health insurance.
- Dental coverage.
- Vision coverage.
- Paid time off.
- 401(k) plan with company match.
- Ongoing learning, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Flexible fully remote work arrangements.
- A collaborative and supportive team environment.
