About the Role
This permanent full-time Project Lead position is based at the Balcatta Support Centre, with travel to sites as required. The role sits within a highly professional team and supports a long-term contract for a major mining client in the Pilbara. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will oversee the safe and compliant delivery of projects across multiple locations, providing end-to-end project management support for the broader project team. The work may cover housing refurbishments, village accommodation upgrades, critical infrastructure replacement, major civil works such as carparks, airport upgrades, and improvements to central facilities including dining rooms, kitchens, and wet mess areas, along with a large number of smaller works.
- Define project scope and manage planning, cost estimating, budgets, and schedule performance.
- Deliver projects in line with client expectations, company goals, and contractual requirements.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients and support clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Source and coordinate the resources needed for assigned work.
- Help form and develop effective project teams.
- Approve construction planning, programming, and completion schedules.
- Approve subcontractor engagement and any major subcontract variations.
- Support clients through standardised project management processes that deliver consistent quality and cost outcomes.
- Assist with contract management for deliverable projects.
- Promote safety improvements through site safety walks and similar actions, with the aim of reducing incidents and supporting a zero-accident mindset.
What You’ll Need
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Construction/Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or substantial proven project management experience. Experience delivering project outcomes across multiple sites is required, with mining sector experience preferred. You should also bring strong commercial awareness, solid financial and P&L management capability, and the ability to prepare and assess tenders, quotes, and bids. Strong corporate process awareness, sound professional judgement, persuasive presentation skills, and the confidence to negotiate effectively are also important.
