Role overview
BBC Studios is looking for a Product Manager to join BBC Studios, StoryWorks in London on a 6-month fixed-term maternity cover contract at Job Band D. This role focuses on shaping and delivering tailored digital products for branded content campaigns, turning client needs and editorial ambitions into polished digital experiences that meet agreed timelines, budgets, and performance goals.
The role sits at the meeting point of editorial, commercial, design, and technical teams. Success in this position depends on strong coordination skills, a practical approach to delivery, and the ability to balance creative quality with technical and commercial realities. The Product Manager also contributes to global RFPs and pitch work by helping define product direction, scope, estimates, and pricing.

Key responsibilities
- Drive the full delivery cycle for custom websites and digital experiences used in high-value branded content campaigns.
- Shape product features and user journeys so they reflect campaign goals, audience expectations, and technical constraints.
- Convert client briefs and creative ideas into structured product requirements, roadmaps, and delivery plans.
- Work closely with design, content, data, and QA colleagues to produce cohesive and high-quality digital outputs.
- Keep user experience, creative intent, and technical feasibility in balance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Serve as the main point of contact across editorial, commercial, design, technical, and regional stakeholder groups.
- Support pitch and RFP activity by advising on product approach, scope, effort, and commercial pricing.
- Take ownership of delivery by managing budgets, schedules, risks, and delivery trade-offs.
- Oversee external development agencies and vendors, ensuring quality, performance, and adherence to commercial terms.
- Use audience research and usability findings to improve products, track outcomes, and support continuous iteration.
Requirements
- Background delivering digital products in a busy, client-facing environment such as a web agency, digital media business, or advertising setting.
- Strong grasp of the complete product lifecycle, from concept and pitch through delivery and optimisation.
- Ability to turn business and campaign goals into effective digital product solutions.
- Proven experience managing budgets, timelines, and several projects at the same time.
- Confident stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence internal teams and external clients.
- Experience working with third-party vendors and outside development partners.
- Good understanding of web technologies, UX principles, and digital production processes.
- Experience applying user research and analytics to product decisions.
- Advantageous, though not essential: experience with branded content or campaign-led digital experiences.
- Advantageous, though not essential: familiarity with multi-market global campaign delivery.

Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 plus London Weighting of £5,441, depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience. The range has been set using internal benchmarking and external market insight.
