Product Manager

About the Role

An early-stage, venture-backed technology business in Berlin is hiring a Product Manager to help build an AI-first platform for managing and automating complex operational workflows. The company is supported by leading investors and is working at the intersection of AI, workflow automation, and agentic systems.

This position is designed for someone who is highly entrepreneurial, comfortable in uncertain environments, and excited to work closely with customers, engineers, designers, and the founding team. The role offers substantial ownership from the outset and the chance to influence both product direction and day-to-day execution.

What You Will Do

• Run customer interviews and discovery conversations to uncover real user needs.
• Develop a deep understanding of customer processes, pain points, and operational bottlenecks.
• Turn customer insights into actionable product opportunities.
• Test assumptions and validate ideas before development starts.
• Partner with the founders to set product priorities and shape the roadmap.
• Assess ideas based on customer value and business impact.
• Help define product strategy while balancing near-term needs with longer-term goals.
• Work closely with engineering and design to move ideas into shipped product.
• Write clear product requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Guide initiatives from concept to launch and keep stakeholders aligned.
• Spot opportunities to use AI for automation and better user experiences.
• Contribute to AI-enabled features, workflow automation, and agentic system design.
• Set success metrics and review product outcomes.
• Study user behavior and adoption patterns to identify improvements.
• Use customer feedback and data to continuously refine activation, engagement, and retention.

Ideal Background

The company is open to a range of backgrounds. Suitable candidates may currently work as a Product Manager, Product Designer moving into product, Software Engineer transitioning into product work, or a startup founder/operator with strong product instincts.

What matters most is the ability to identify customer problems, work directly with users, and deliver strong products.

Must-Have Experience

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in product management, product design, software engineering, or a comparable role.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping digital products.
• Strong ability to conduct customer discovery and research.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A strong sense of ownership and a startup-oriented mindset.
• Comfort working independently in fast-paced environments.
• Experience collaborating closely with engineering and design teams.

Preferred Experience

• Background in B2B SaaS.
• Experience in early-stage startups.
• Training or experience in product design.
• Software engineering background.
• Exposure to AI products, automation platforms, or workflow tools.
• Experience working directly with founders.
• German language skills.
