Role Summary

This Abu Dhabi-based Procurement Engineer position focuses on sourcing and buying finishing materials for construction and fit-out projects. The role calls for solid technical knowledge, supplier coordination, and cost management to keep procurement efficient, compliant, and aligned with project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee purchasing for finishing items such as tiles, marble, gypsum, joinery, lighting, paint, glass, and FF&E materials.
• Study BOQs, drawings, and specifications to determine the required materials.
• Identify, assess, and engage suppliers in both local and international markets.
• Collect quotations, compare technical and commercial offers, and issue LPOs.
• Negotiate on price, payment conditions, and delivery timelines.
• Confirm that materials meet project requirements and quality expectations.
• Liaise with site, design, and project teams for approvals and material submittals.
• Monitor deliveries to help ensure materials arrive on schedule and avoid delays.
• Keep procurement documentation, cost tracking records, and supplier data updated.
• Manage urgent buying needs and variation-related procurement requests.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• At least 2 years of procurement experience in construction or fit-out environments.
• Must have direct, hands-on experience purchasing finishing materials.
• Good understanding of the UAE supplier landscape and construction materials.
• Working knowledge of BOQ analysis, ERP tools, and procurement systems.
• Strong ability to negotiate and manage vendor relationships.
• Awareness of UAE construction standards and material approval processes.
• Candidates must already be available in the UAE.

Additional Information
