Role overview
This position sits within a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart store in Orleans, Ontario, and focuses on delivering postal and related convenience services while keeping customer needs front and center.
The core purpose of the role is to oversee full-service retail post office operations, including courier items, postal boxes, money transfers, and call-in parcels, while helping grow department revenue and maintain strong customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Set the tone for the team by modeling the organization’s core values.
- Participate in interviewing candidates and advise on final hiring decisions.
- Make sure post office cashiers follow store standards consistently.
- Train team members on their duties and provide ongoing coaching and direction.
- Support the FSM in completing performance reviews for post office cashier staff.
Customer service expectations
- Deliver service that goes beyond standard expectations for every customer interaction.
- Ensure team members maintain a professional appearance in line with the uniform policy.
Loss prevention and compliance
- Follow and reinforce all loss-prevention systems and procedures according to company standards.
- Ensure parcel-check procedures are followed properly.
Qualifications and working approach
The role calls for sound judgment, planning, and decision-making skills. You should be comfortable thinking independently when handling customer requests and able to ask the right questions to arrive at appropriate solutions. The position also requires the ability to carry out tasks and goals assigned by management.
Experience and skills
